Patton,  Associate Faculty, at College of the Redwoods and Board Member Cascadia GeoSciences.<br \/>\nSlope stability evaluation for seafloor topography along the Sunda subduction offshore Sumatra, Indonesia. Use of sediment material properties, from local (Sumatra) and analogous sites, to constrain estimates of static slope stability Factor of Safety (FOS) analyses. Then the use ground motion prediction equations (GMPE\u2019s) to estimate ground motion intensity (Arias Intensity, AI) and acceleration (Peak Ground Acceleration, PGA), as possibly generated by fault rupture, to constrain seismic loads for pseudostatic slope stability FOS analyses. This method can be used here in Cascadia for submarine and subaerial settings.<br \/>\n10:00 &#8211; 11:00 Break and Map Gallery Presentations<br \/>\n                    Please feel free and bring maps for presentation and open discussion.<br \/>\n11:00 &#8211; 12:00 &#8220;A Discrete Approach to Vegetation Mapping based on Landsat Imagery for the Development of Quantitative Attributes&#8221; By Ken Stumpf, President and Director, of Geographic Resource Solutions.<br \/>\nPresentation of the basic Discrete Classification Mapping Methodology used for the Redwood National Park Vegetation Mapping and Lassen Volcanic National Park projects using examples and results from both projects.<br \/>\nThis methodology has been used to develop both pixel and polygon map data sets that include National Vegetation Classification System Alliance\/Association level type names, but also include species-specific cover estimates, tree size estimates, and stocking (stems\/acre) estimates.
