| Overview |
|
A strong earthquake (maximum JMA intensity is 6-, Mj 8.0) occured on 04:50, September 26, 2003(JT) at Kushiro-Oki (southeast offshore of Hokkaido). Tsunami was also observed. JMA named this earthquake "The Tokachi-Oki Earthquake in 2003". Around the focal area, an earthquake of Mj 8.2 occured on March 4, 1952, and an earthquake of Mj 7.9 occured on May 16, 1968 at south of this area. |
